- September 16, 1999 Educators’ Forum “Voices Against Indifference”: (The Mint Museum of Art, 2730 Randolph Rd.)
- Educators’ forum for middle and high school teachers. Free and open to interested educators. Registration
- by fax required (704) 347-3845. Deadline September 14. Curriculum packets available to all participants.
- September 26, 1999 Student Dialogues: (Week of Sept, 26) Varian Fry exhibit panelists will visit local schools and meet
- with students to discuss Fry’s life and related concepts of justice.
- Book Signing: Author Andrew A. Marino, whose new biography of Varian Fry, Quiet American, The
- Secret War of Varian Fry, will be at the exhibit opening.
- Gala Opening:
- Guests: Mme. Cecile Bost, Project Director, Marseilles-Provence Chamber of Commerce; Mme. Sylviane
- Muselier, Vice President, Amicale Reseau Alliance; Mr. Jean-Paul Monchau, French Consul General.
- Panel Discussion: With five members of Fry’s original team, exhibit curator Susan Morganstein and film maker
- Pierre Sauvage. Moderated by WFAE’s Mike Collins.
