2016 Footsteps Global Initiative: Bosnia

Echo’s Footsteps Global Initiative: Bosnia was a unique experiential leadership initiative geared to promote understanding and inspire a quest for knowledge. Through an extensive application and interview process, diverse students from across our region were chosen to participate in this exciting study/international travel opportunity to explore global citizenship and personal responsibility.
With a focus on Bosnia-Herzegovina, Footsteps Global Initiative: Bosnia offered students the once-in-a- lifetime opportunity to witness first-hand, a magnificent country which traces permanent human settlement to the Neolithic Age and whose natural beauty and culture belie the tragic events of the 20th Century. Rich with religious diversity, the country has experienced the devastation of war and genocide and now struggles to rebuild itself.
“Because of the Opportunities The Echo Foundation has afforded me,
I have learned to become a more compassionate, curious, and active member of my community and
more aware of what I can do to solve injustices around the world.”
Alexa Duffy, Echo Student Ambassador – Footsteps Bosnia
