Soul Paint

By: Hannah Love

Senior, Butler High School

We all have a canvas,
In the shape of a soul.
We’re all armed with paint,
Shades of colors untold.

As we go through our lives,
Paint flies from our souls,
And lands on canvasses,
Both the young and the old.

It’s all up to us,
Which colors we fling,
Whether dark blacks and browns,
Or bright reds, blues and greens.

We’re all walking around,
On the rock we call home,
With paint on our faces,
And tints on our soul.

No matter the shades,
Of the paint we’ve amassed,
We can all paint the world
With colors that last.
